Practise graffiti letters

Teenagers and adults mostly, and children from about eight who can hold a marker steadily. As a colouring sheet, the hollow letters work at any age.

Start from your tag
Choose Your words and type the name you write: graffiti is practised name first, more than as an alphabet.
Compare the five hands
Each font copies a different tool: a tag in Sedgwick Ave Display and, lighter, Sedgwick Ave; a marker pen in Permanent Marker; drips in Rubik Wet Paint; a spray can in Rubik Spray Paint.
Trace, then go freehand
Lay thin paper over the printed sheet and go over the letters a few times, then write them without it, a little faster each time.

The order to practise in

  1. 1E F H I L TStraight strokes first, where the lean and the speed of a tag show most clearly.
  2. 2C O S UThen the curves, which a tag writes in one sweep without lifting the marker.
  3. 3A K M N V W X Y ZDiagonals next: in bigger pieces writers stretch them and cross them into arrows.
  4. 4B D G J P Q RBowls and hooks last, the letters with the most ways to be drawn.

Printable graffiti letters, answered

Can I print my tag as hollow letters?
Yes: choose Your words, enter the tag and pick one of the five street fonts. The sheet sets it hollow at the largest size the paper takes, ready to colour in or trace.
Which graffiti font has the fattest letters?
Rubik Wet Paint and Rubik Spray Paint, the two heaviest of the five, leave the most room to colour; Sedgwick Ave is the lightest, close to a pen-drawn tag.
How do I turn my tag into a throw-up?
Draw round each letter of the tag at an even distance, round off every corner, and fill the shape in one or two colours. The bubble letter pages show that outline step letter by letter.
