Bubble letters
Bubble letters are fat, round letters that look blown up like balloons, the kind drawn in outline and coloured in. Here are all 52 in Modak, a plump font whose holes shrink to slits, and in four other bubble fonts. Open a letter to see it big and hollow, or print the alphabet to colour.

How they are drawn
Print the hollow letters to colour, or draw your own: the outline is what makes them.
- Start from a skeleton
- Write the letter thin in pencil, draw a round outline around it at the same distance all the way, then rub out the thin letter.
- Round every corner
- Even E, K and Z lose their points: every corner and every end of a stroke is round, as if the letter were blown up.
- Keep the holes small
- The holes in A, B, D, O, P, Q and R shrink as the letter swells, to slits or dots. Leave them white when you colour in.
