Comic fonts
Letters from comic books and cartoons: the hand-lettered capitals of speech bubbles, bold and punchy titles, and the casual kind of Comic Sans. Use them for comics, children’s books, games and friendly signs.

Questions, answered
On licences and apps, for every font on this page.
- Are these comic fonts free for commercial use?
- Yes. All 23 are free, and each one’s licence allows commercial use: client work, products, logos and advertising. The one from Fontshare comes under ITF’s own licence: commercial use too, but no changing the files and no passing them on. Each font’s page names its licence and answers the rest.
- How do I install one of these comic fonts in Word?
- Open the font’s page here and get it from its source: Google Fonts, Fontsource, Fontshare or its maker’s own page. On Windows, right-click the .ttf or .otf file and choose Install; on a Mac, double-click it and choose Install. Restart Word, and the font is in its menu. None of these is one of Microsoft 365’s cloud fonts, so a document set in one needs the font on every computer that opens it: send a PDF instead.
- Can I use these comic fonts in Canva?
- Search Canva’s font menu first: it has many free fonts but publishes no list of them, so we can’t say which of these are there. If one is missing, a paid plan such as Canva Pro lets you upload the font file, OTF, TTF or WOFF, to your Brand Kit. Canva’s help
- How do I use these comic fonts with Cricut?
- Install the font on your computer as for Word, then close and reopen Cricut Design Space: the font is under System fonts. For a script whose letters touch, select the text and Weld it, so it cuts as one piece. Or type your words in the font generator and download an SVG, its letters already welded. Fonts for Cricut →
