Disney font

The Disney logo is drawn from the founder’s stylised signature, and it has been the company’s logo since 1956. It is lettering, not a font, so there is nothing to download or buy. These free scripts have the same loops and bounce.

02 / The lettering, and your questions

01

What font does Disney use?

The logo is based on a stylised autograph of the company’s founder, and has been the company’s logo since 1956. Source: Wikipedia: Disney logo

02

Is the Disney font free?

No. The logo is lettering, not a font, so there is no file to get. Fan-made copies are around, but most are free for personal use only, and copying a logo can break trademark law whatever a font’s licence says. The fonts on this page are free, free for commercial use too, under open licences.

03

How do I use these fonts in Canva?

Search Canva’s font menu for the font’s name: Canva publishes no list of its fonts, so the menu is the only way to know. If it isn’t there, Canva Pro and Teams can upload a font file: get it from the font’s page here.

On the free plan, make a PNG of your words in the cursive font generator and upload it as an image.

04

And in Cricut Design Space?

Install the font on your computer from its page here: Design Space lists the fonts on your computer as system fonts. Or type your words in the cursive font generator and download the SVG: its letters come welded, to cut in one piece. More in Cricut fonts.

05

Can I use them on things I sell?

The fonts, yes: every font on this page is under an open licence that allows commercial use, on shirts, signs, cards and logos. But Disney and its logo are someone else’s trademarks: a design that copies the logo or uses the name can still need the owner’s permission. This is a plain answer, not legal advice.
