Cursive f
Cursive f is the only small letter with two loops: one up to the top line, one down to the descender line that turns forward.
f
- afa
After a, from the baseline
- ofa
After o, from the midline
- Stroke order
- 1Swing up from the baseline to the top line and loop back to the left.
- 2Come straight down through the baseline to the descender line.
- 3Loop forward, to the right, and come up to meet the stem a little above the baseline.
- 4From there, curve out to the right into the next letter.
- Where it joins
- The stroke out leaves from where the lower loop meets the stem. After b, o, v and w the top loop rises straight from their stroke at the midline, as in “of”.
- Mixed up with
The lower loop turns forward, to the right, like the loop of q; the loops of g, j, y and z turn back to the left. Print f has neither loop and never drops below the line.
