Cursive l
Cursive l is a single tall loop: the stroke of e taken all the way up to the top line.
l
- ala
After a, from the baseline
- ola
After o, from the midline
- Stroke order
- 1Swing up from the baseline in a long slant to the top line.
- 2Loop back to the left.
- 3Come straight down across the upstroke to the baseline and curve out.
- Where it joins
- It ends on the baseline and flows into anything after it; “ll” is two loops in a row. After b, o, v and w the loop rises straight from their stroke at the midline, as in “ol”.
- Mixed up with
Height is everything: an l that stops short of the top line reads as e. Print l is a straight stroke; cursive l is always a loop, the same one b starts with.
