Cursive s
Cursive s looks nothing like print s: it rises to a sharp point just above the midline, then curves down and closes on the baseline.
s
- asa
After a, from the baseline
- osa
After o, from the midline
- Stroke order
- 1Swing up from the baseline to a point just above the midline.
- 2Curve down the right side to the baseline.
- 3Bring the curve back to the left to close against the upstroke.
- 4Curve out to the right along the baseline.
- Where it joins
- It joins on both sides along the baseline. After b, o, v and w it starts from their stroke at the midline with a little dip, so “os” and “ws” look different from “as”.
- Mixed up with
There is one curve, on the right, instead of print s’s two. The point at the top and the closed foot make it s; with a flat step at the top instead of the curve, it is r.
- Practise with
- sunseastarsistersun · sea · star · sister
