Cursive g is the oval of a with a straight stem that drops below the baseline into a loop turning back to the left.

- It comes in over the top of the oval, as a does, and goes out from where the loop crosses the stem on the baseline, as in “go”.

Above the baseline g and q are the same letter. Below it, the loop of g turns back to the left, as y’s does, and the loop of q forward to the right. Many print fonts give g two bowls; cursive g has one oval and one loop.
