Lowercase bubble letter m
Small bubble m is a short stem with two round arches side by side, the widest of the small letters.
- The font
- Modak. Round, puffed up. Free to use, from the catalogue.
- Step by step
- 1Begin with a short line down and two arches beside it, each back to the baseline.
- 2Inflate stem and arches together, rounding all three feet.
- 3Keep the two gaps under the arches tall and round; they are narrow in fat strokes.
- 4Shade the last leg’s outer side, under both arches and along the feet, with shine where each arch peaks.
- Watch for
- Two arches in the room of one leave gaps that close, and the m clogs into a slab with dents. Let the m be wider than its neighbours.
- Mixed up with
With one arch a bubble m is an n, and upside down it is a w; drawn narrow, it reads as rn.
- Practise with
- moon · mug · mud · music

A 3D bubble letter is its outline drawn twice, the copy a little down and to the right, the corners joined.
Where does the depth go on a 3D bubble m?
An m in 3D shows its edge under both arches, down the last leg and along the three feet.
How wide is a bubble m?
About one and a half times as wide as an n: two arches need the room. In Modak and Rubik Bubbles it is the widest small letter of all, wider than w.
How do you colour a bubble m?
Colour the stem with the first arch, then the second; start in the gaps under the arches.
