03 / Questions
Bubble u, answered
A 3D bubble letter is its outline drawn twice, the copy a little down and to the right, the corners joined.
Where does the depth go on a 3D bubble u?
A small u carries its 3D edge under the curve and along the stem on the right.
Does a bubble u need a stem on the right?
It helps: without it, a u is a fat cup that could be a v. All five fonts here give it one, Coiny too, whose v is a u without the stem.
How do you colour a bubble u?
Fill the little cup from its left tip round to the stem, then the stem itself.
