Lowercase bubble letter j
Small bubble j is an i whose stem runs below the baseline and curls to the left, its round dot above.

- Step by step
- 1Rough in a line from x-height down past the baseline, curling left, with a dot over it.
- 2Fatten the line and the dot evenly, and round off the curl’s end.
- 3Leave the dot floating clear of the stem, and the space inside the curl open.
- 4Shade down the stem and on into the curl and beneath it, with light on the dot.
- Watch for
- A curl that swings up too far closes on itself and makes a fat loop. Keep the curl shallow, ending under the stem.
