Lowercase bubble letter y
Small bubble y is a v or a small cup whose right side carries on under the baseline into a tail curling left.

- 1Rough in two short slants or a small cup, its right side running on below the baseline and curling left.
- 2Fatten the strokes evenly, rounding the tops and the tail’s end.
- 3Keep the fork between the arms open, and the tail’s inside clear.
- 4Darken the right arm and the tail’s underside, with light on the left arm.

- A tail that curls up to the arms closes into a loop. Keep the curl low and short.
- Mixed up with
Cut off its tail and a bubble y is a v, and with a round bowl over the tail it reads as a g.
